Sun, snow, rough mountains, sandy beaches, rivers, lakes, ancient history, night life and fantastic food, whatever you want Abruzzo 's got it.

The Abruzzo region is located in the central part of Italy between the Adriatic and the Apennine mountains, just a two hour drive from Rome. Abruzzo is by many conceived as the best kept secret of Italy, since the region is not crowded with foreign tourists.

The eastern part of the region is characterized by hills and agricultural land, and the western part is characterized by the landscape of the impressive Apennines. The difference in landscape divides the region into two different climatic parts. The eastern coastal part has mild winters and hot humid summers, and the western part has cold winters and hot summers. The combination of different climates gives the region the perfect circumstances of attracting all kinds of tourists. In the summer you can enjoy the sandy beaches of Pineto, Pescara and Montesilvano, and go trekking in the national and regional parks. In the winter the mountainside provides superb surroundings for cross country and downhill skiing, and all year round Abruzzi can guarantee the authentic Italian way of life.

Getting to and from Abruzzo now-a-days is easier than it was only a few decades ago. The region, once isolated and sparsely populated, now connects to the world by plane, train and motorway. The international airport of Pescara has daily departures and arrivals from London and Frankfurt and weekly flights to Brussels , Paris , Kiev , Zurich and Tirana. Going by train in Abruzzo might not be considered timesaving, but the train offers great ways to see the nature. The motorway in and out of Abruzzo is north, west and southgoing, which makes it easy traveling to e.g. Rome and Naples.
